Headpieces, Veils & Details

As with anything, the details make the difference… hand beading, embroidery… French piping…. color matching… finding the perfect piece of antique lace to complement or repair an existing textile… brides have even brought us veils, shoes, and jewelry around which we have designed dresses so that the neckline, hem and silhouette are perfectly suited to both the client’s figure and her existing “treasures”.  We use silk tulle when possible, include semi-precious and precious stones when desired in jewelry and headpieces (and sometimes on the gown itself)… we have decorated shoes, designed handbags, hats and even rain capes to accessorize the gown for the “day of”.  Hair ornaments have been constructed from the bride’s mother’s AND grandmother’s wedding gowns so that she has a memento from each family wedding accompanying her walk down the aisle (as seen in the fourth photo in the gallery above)!

Janice Martin has developed a long list of vendors with whom she has collaborated for custom jewelry, shoes, veils, fabrics (hand-beaded to hand-dyed/painted/silk screened).  The more complicated the project, the more fun the challenge!
